Contents 1 Background 2 Involvement in Manufacturing 3 Contributions in Literature 4 Model Design Development // Background Lennon was involved in aviation since the age of 15, when he went for a short ride in a Curtis Robin. He soon joined the Montreal Flying Club and began flying D.H. Gypsy Moths and early two-place Aeronca cabin monoplanes. He was educated in Canada at Edward VII School, Strathcona Academy, Montreal Technical School, McGill University and the University of Western Ontario, (London, Ontario). Involvement in Manufacturing Lennon entered the Canadian aircraft manufacturing industry and later moved to general manufacturing as an industrial engineer. Throughout his career, he continued to study aeronautics, particularly aircraft design, aviation texts, NACA and NASA reports and aviation periodicals. He tested many aeronautics theories by designing, building and flying nearly 25 experimental R/C models-miniatures of potential light aircraft. One model, the Seagull III was a flying boat with wide aerobatic capabilities. Lennon is a licensed pilot in the United States and Canada. Contributions in Literature Lennon is a contributing editor to Model Aviation, Model Builder, RC Modeler and RC Models and Electronics. He has written several books, the most current are: "Basics of R/C Model Aircraft Design", "R/C Model Airplane Design" and "Canard: A Revolution in Flight." His last book was published in 1996, has been reprinted twice since. Andy authority in aerodynamics and related studies are well acknowledged by leaders in the aviation industry. His book "Canard: A Revolution in Flight" had the foreword written by Burt Rutan, a fitting authority in Canard design. For his last book "Basics of R/C Model Aircraft Design", Bob Kress, who designed the F-14, among other designs, wrote the introduction. Note the traditional profile found in many of Andy's designs. Lutefisk (lutfisk) (pronounced [l??t?f?sk] in Southern Norway, [l??tf?sk] in Central and Northern Norway, Sweden and the Swedish-speaking areas in Finland (lipe?kala in Finnish)) is a traditional dish of the Nordic countries made from stockfish (air-dried whitefish) or dried/salted whitefish (klippfisk) and soda lye (lut). Its name literally means "lye fish", because it is made using caustic lye soda derived from potash minerals. Contents 1 General 1.1 Preparation 1.2 Cooking 1.3 Eating 2 Origin 2.1 Origins 2.2 Traces in literature 3 Lutefisk and Norwegians 4 Lutefisk humor 5 Spellings 6 Notes 7 References 8 See also 9 External links // General Preparation Lutefisk in a Norwegian market. Lutefisk is made from salted/dried whitefish (normally cod, but ling is also used), prepared with lye, in a sequence of particular treatments. The watering steps of these treatments differ slightly for salted/dried whitefish because of its high salt content. The first treatment is to soak the stockfish in cold water for five to six days (with the water changed daily). The saturated stockfish is then soaked in an unchanged solution of cold water and lye for an additional two days. The fish will swell during this soaking, attaining an even larger size than in its original (undried) state, while its protein content decreases by more than 50 percent, producing its famous jelly-like consistency. When this treatment is finished, the fish (saturated with lye) has a pH value of 1112, and is therefore caustic. To make the fish edible, a final treatment of yet another four to six days of soaking in cold water (also changed daily) is needed. Eventually, the lutefisk is ready to be cooked. In Finland, the traditional reagent used is birch ash. It contains high amounts of potassium carbonate and hydrocarbonate, giving the fish a more mellow treatment than would sodium hydroxide (lyestone). It is important to not incubate the fish too long in the lye, because saponification of the fish fats may occur, effectively rendering the fish fats into soap. The term for such spoiled fish in Finnish is saippuakala (soap fish). Cooking Cooking pots at a church supper: with this method, the lutefisk was boiled for about five minutes, until translucent, then promptly served. After the preparation, the lutefisk is saturated with water and must therefore be cooked carefully so that it does not fall into pieces. Lutefisk does not need any additional water for the cooking; it is sufficient to place it in a pan, salt it, seal the lid tightly, and let it steam cook under a very low heat for 2025 minutes. It is also possible to do this in an oven. There, the fish is put in an ovenproof dish, covered with aluminium foil, and baked at 225 (435 ) for 4050 minutes. Another option is to parboil lutefisk; wrap the lutefisk in cheesecloth and gently boil until tender. This usually takes a very short time, so care must be taken to watch the fish and remove it before it is ready to fall apart. Prepare a white sauce to serve over the lutefisk. Lutefisk sold in North America may also be cooked in a microwave oven. The average cooking time is 8-10 minutes per whole fish (a package of two fish sides) at high power in a covered glass cooking dish, preferably made of heat resistant glass. The cooking time will vary, depending upon the power of the microwave oven. When cooking and eating lutefisk, it is important to clean the lutefisk and its residue off of pans, plates, and utensils immediately. Lutefisk left overnight becomes nearly impossible to remove. Sterling silver should never be used in the cooking, serving or eating of lutefisk, which will permanently ruin silver. Stainless steel utensils are recommended instead. Eating Norwegian Constitution Day dinner in the United States, with lutefisk, lefse, and meatballs. In the Nordic Countries, the "season" for lutefisk starts early in November and typically continues through Christmas. Lutefisk is also very popular in Nordic-North American areas of Canada, especially the prairie regions and the large Finnish community at Sointula on Malcolm Island in the province of British Columbia, and the United States, particularly in the Upper Midwest and Northwest. From October to February, there are numerous lutefisk feeds in cities and towns around Puget Sound. Lutefisk is usually served with a variety of side dishes, including, but not limited to, bacon, green peas, green pea stew, potatoes, lefse, gravy, mashed rutabaga, white sauce, melted or clarified butter, syrup, geitost (goat cheese), or "old" cheese (gammelost). (April 2008) Microscope slides and cover slips. A single, 3-inch long glass slide is shown with a cover glass in place A microscope slide was originally a 'slider' made of ivory or bone, containing specimens held between disks of transparent mica. These were popular in Victorian England until the Royal Microscopical Society introduced the standardized microscope slide in the form of a thin sheet of glass used to hold objects for examination under a microscope. A standard microscope slide (shown on the right) is 75 x 25 mm (3" X 1") and about 1.0 mm thick. A range of other sizes is available for various special purposes: 75 x 50 mm and for geological use 46 x 27 mm (petrographic) and even 48 x 28 mm (thin sections) Since high power microscopes have a very narrow region within which they focus, the object to be viewed ("specimen") is typically placed on the middle of the slide with another, much thinner square (or circle or rectangle) of glass placed over the specimen. This smaller sheet of glass is called a cover slip or cover glass, and typically measures between 18 and 25 mm on a side, and 0.085 to 0.25 mm thick. The cover glass serves two purposes: (1) it protects the microscope's objective lens from contacting the specimen, and (2) it creates an even thickness (in wet mounts) for viewing. The thickness of the coverslip is crucially important for high-resolution microscopy. Contents 1 Wet mount 1.1 Problems and solutions 2 Graticule slide 3 Cover slip standard thicknesses 4 How to hold a microscope slide and coverslip // Wet mount Many objects that are going to be viewed on a compound light microscope slide are prepared as a wet mount using water. Other materials are used when a permanent slide is being prepared for viewing and storage. In a wet mount, the specimen is placed at the center of the slide with one (or two) drops of water and the cover glass placed over the specimen. In some preparations (such as looking at pond water for microscopic critters), the object being prepared for viewing is contained within water. Special slides are available for viewing mounts that require more than one or two drops of water. Once the specimen and water are combined on the slide, the cover glass is added. The cover glass should be placed at an angle to the slide, one edge touching the slide, and then lowered as if hinged there. If done properly, the water will force out any air as the cover glass closes over it, and no bubbles will be trapped beneath the glass. Although an occasional bubble might be tolerated, large numbers will make viewing the specimen difficult. Adhesive forces between the liquid and the glass will hold the cover glass firmly in place. Generally, only one drop of water is sufficient. Adding too much water will create a problem, as the affixing of the cover slip to the slide will depend on much weaker cohesive forces (see "Problems and solutions" below). There should be no excess water (water outside the cover slip) and the cover slip should remain in place when the slide is moved to the stage of the microscope, where it is held in place by stage clips or a mechanical stage arm. Problems and solutions Mostly air under cover slip too little water was used (increase by 1 drop) or cover glass was improperly dropped onto specimen. Adding a drop of water to the slide at the very edge of the cover glass will result in water being taken in under the cover glass (capillary effect). If numerous air spaces are still evident, it is best to start over. Too much liquid under cover slip cover glass slides around easily on glass slide, and may fall off if slide not held perfectly level. Using a small piece of absorbent paper (paper towel or tissue), touch edge of paper to excess water at edge of cover slip; repeat until cover glass affixes to the slide. Cover slip "rocks" on specimen or is clearly not laying flat either the specimen or something in the sample (a grain of sand for example) is preventing the cover slip from coming down far enough to adhere to the slide. Focusing on this slide will be difficult. Possibly the specimen is not thin enough or evenly sliced. If a grain is present, remove it and re-mount the specimen. Fingerprints or dust may have been on the slide already which may affect your final results. In the case of dark field microscopy, dust particles and minute scratches can cause intolerable problems as sources of unwanted glare in the image. In such cases freshly-cleaved mica may be used instead of glass to support and cover the acqueous specimen. Graticule slide Vector rasterized grid (low quality) The text above describes a standard microscope slide. However, there are many special purpose slides. For example,...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about dye sublimation paper, paper ncr, solvent paper, coffee filter paper, magnetic photo paper, thermal roll paper, cash register rolls, synthetic paper, professional photo paper, white printing paper, . "Blow Out" "The Price" List of Prison Break episodes "Five the Hard Way" is the 64th episode of the American television series Prison Break and was broadcast on October 6, 2008 in the United States on the Fox Network. Plot The episode starts with T-Bag coming to his senses, tied up in a chair. Gretchen, his captor, asks T-Bag what he knows about Scylla. She proceeds to cut his good arm several times before T-Bag asks how he could be of service to her. At the warehouse the team finds out that the next card holder is in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lincoln, Sucre, Roland, and Sara proceed to Las Vegas. The foursome tails the card holder in a casino to copy his card. Meanwhile, Sara becomes shaken when she learns from Lincoln that Michael may have a brain aneurysm and could die soon like his mother did. Roland's device fails to pick up any signal, and Lincoln deduces that the card holder is keeping his card in his room. At an outdoor swimming pool, Sara is wearing a string bikini with a transparent dress over it and is sent to hit up the card holder by faking that she was on a stagette party and her friends dared her to get a photo in a whale room. However, the card holder refuses and leaves. The bartender tells her that she "isn't his type" and that the card holder asked if he "liked to party." This leads to the team using Sucre instead, who accepts very reluctantly. Back in Los Angeles T-Bag's assistant calls Bellick and tells the team that she wants to help and wants money. At the meeting, however, Michael, Mahone, and Bellick walk into a trap created by T-Bag. T-Bag has the girl tie up Bellick, Michael, and Mahone, but Mahone makes a run for it and calls Agent Self. T-Bag forces Michael to help him decode Whistler's bird book by threatening the life of his assistant with a gun until Michael agrees. Gretchen, staying out of view in another room, notices Bellick has an ankle monitor and tells T-Bag they have to get them off. Michael arranges the pages from the book into a blueprint of the GATE office but secretly hides a page under the table. In Las Vegas Sucre is seen walking to the pool deck, removing his shirt, and sitting down with a beer beside the card holder. Sucre is invited by the card holder to his room for a better drink. Once inside the room, Sucre secretly copies the fifth card while discovering that Scuderi's aim was to find a one-time bedmate for his wife and not for himself; this due to impotency caused by a Vietnam War wound in Hue City. Sucre then returns after a long time to the hotel room and tells them that the download was successful. Roland is then asking what happened, and Sucre answers, "It stays in Vegas," while Sucre give Roland the device. Mahone, with a GPS and a gun, breaks into the house where Michael and Bellick are supposedly held but only finds the ankle monitors. Mahone notices a paper crane, which is a page with the word GATE. Meanwhile, T-Bag, Gretchen, and their captives arrive at a new hiding spot, where Gretchen lures a GATE employee and kills him for snooping around. At GATE T-Bag takes Michael to the 8 x 10 closet in his old office, where he uses a screwdriver to remove the carpet and the floor tiles, revealing a metal trap door. As Lincoln and his team are leaving the casino, Roland trails behind and uses the slot machines while holding the device, which allows him to hit jackpot many times. Unfortunately, this is noticed by the casino employees. The casino security confiscates the device (despite Roland telling him it's a battery pack) and kicks him out, much to the team's annoyance. Roland does say that he can make another device in a month. After opening the trap door, Michael and T-Bag descend a ladder and arrive at a small underground hallway. Michael states that he is no longer helping T-Bag when Mahone jumps out and knocks out T-Bag. Mahone and Michael then throw T-Bag into a cell and leave him there yelling. Walking out from GATE, Mahone, Self, and Michael hear a cell phone nearby. Michael answers the call and realizes that it is Gretchen, still alive and involved. Reception IGN gave the episode 9.2 saying that the episode "is a fine example of what can be done with this new series format". IGN also gave the episode the Editor's choice award. Bolted joint for Nuts And Screw
I want to introduct something about metal brad. 1.Usually be used as embellishments. Can be used to attach the metal image to your project. And also can be added to the front of a card as a focal point or as a surprise on the inside of the card. 2.available in iron / Copper / Aluminum / alloy and many different colors in different figures 3.Inner packing: blister pack or plastic box or tin box. metal brad mo Bolted joint Screw joint Stud joint Bolted joints are one of the most common elements in construction and machine design. They consist of cap screws or studs that capture and join other parts, and are secured with the mating of screw threads. There are two main types of bolted joint designs. In one method the bolt is tightened to a calculated clamp load, usually by applying a measured torque load. The joint will be designed such that the clamp load is never overcome by the forces acting on the joint (and therefore the joined parts see no relative motion). The other type of bolted joint does not have a designed clamp load but relies on the shear strength of the bolt shaft. This may include clevis linkages, joints that can move, and joints that rely on locking mechanism (like lock washers, thread adhesives, and lock nuts). Contents 1 Theory 1.1 Thread strength 2 Setting the torque 3 Property class 4 Failure modes 5 Locking mechanisms 6 Measurement of frictional torque of threads in bolt 7 Bolt banging 8 International standards 9 See also 10 References 10.1 Notes 10.2 Bibliography 11 External links // Theory The clamp load, also called preload, of a cap screw is created when a torque is applied, and is generally a percentage of the cap screw's proof strength. Cap screws are manufactured to various standards that define, among other things, their strength and clamp load. Torque charts are available that identify the required torque for cap screws based on their property class. When a cap screw is tightened it is stretched, and the parts that are captured are compressed. The result is a spring-like assembly. External forces are designed to act on the parts that have been compressed, and not on the cap screw. The result is a non-intuitive distribution of strain; in this engineering model, as long as the forces acting on the compressed parts do not exceed the clamp load, the cap screw doesn't see any increased load. This model is only valid when the members under compression are much stiffer than the capscrew. This is a simplified model. In reality the bolt will see a small fraction of the external load prior to it exceeding the clamp load, depending on the compressed parts' stiffness with respect to the hardware's stiffness. The results of this type of joint design are: Greater preloads in bolted joints reduce the fatigue loading of the hardware. For cyclic loads, the bolt does not see the full amplitude of the load. As a result, fatigue life can be increased or, if the material exhibits an endurance limit, extended indefinitely. As long as the external loads on a joint don't exceed the clamp load, the hardware doesn't see any motion and will not come loose (no locking mechanisms are required). In the case of the compressed member being less stiff than the hardware (soft, compressed gaskets for example) this analogy doesn't hold true. The load seen by the hardware is the preload plus the external load. Thread strength Nut threads are designed to support the rated clamp load of their respective bolts. If tapped threads are used instead of a nut, then their strength needs to be calculated. Steel hardware into tapped steel threads requires a depth of 1.5 thread diameter to support the full clamp load. If an appropriate depth of threads is not available, or the threads are in a weaker material than the cap screw, then the clamp load (and torque) needs to be derated appropriately. Threads are usually created on a thread rolling machine. They may also be cut with a lathe, tap or die. Rolled threads are about 40% stronger than cut threads. Setting the torque Engineered joints require the torque to be accurately set. Setting the torque for cap screws is commonly achieved using a torque wrench. The required torque value for a particular screw application may be quoted in the published standard document or defined by the manufacturer. The clamp load produced during tightening is higher than 75% of the fastener's proof load. To achieve the benefits of the pre-loading, the clamping force in the screw must be higher than the joint separation load. For some joints a number of screws are required to secure the joint, these are all hand tightened before the final torque is applied to ensure an even joint seating. The torque value is dependent on the friction between the threads and beneath the bolt or nut head, this friction can be affected by the application of a lubricant or any plating (e.g. cadmium or zinc) applied to the screw threads. The screw standard will define whether the torque value is for a dry or lubricated screw thread. If a screw is torqued rather than the nut then the torque value should be increased to compensate for the...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about chi hair straightening iron, doorbell intercom, wood executive desks, multimedia car stereo, gps auto navigation system, welding hood, camera baby monitor, hydraulic pressure gauge, pda car charger, medical sterilization, . The Road to the Crater Peter Schmidt (17 May 1931 22 January 1980) was a Berlin-born British artist, painter, theoretician of color and composition, pioneering multimedia exhibitor and an influential teacher. He was part of a generation of art school teachers in the 1960s and 1970s that had great impact on some students who later went on to work in art and music. He worked with Hansj?rg Mayer, Brian Eno, Mark Boyle and had associations with Russell Mills, David Toop and Tom Phillips. Contents 1 Biography 2 Works 3 Publications 4 Exhibitions 5 Miscellaneous 6 Quotes 7 Peter Schmidt Prints 8 References 9 External links // Biography Peter Schmidt was born 17 May 1931 in Berlin, moved to England in 1938, and began painting in 1947. He studied at the Goldsmiths College from 1951-1953, and Slade School from 1953-1957. He won the Abbey Minor Travelling Scholarship 1957-58, which was spent in Sicily. On his return to England, he painted directly from objects and people, mainly in oils. His work was exhibited at Beaux Arts, with his first one man show in 1961. He was the subject of a film called DEPARTURES made for BBC TV in 1961. In 1963 he began a concept of painting he called PROGRAM. He produced a series of works inspired by music exhibited in a one man show at the Curwin Gallery 1966 . By this time his work had become totally abstract and he was focusing on ideas and systems. He performed an electronic music event called A PAINTERS USE OF SOUND at the ICA in 1967. Other music and performance work were at the Bristol Arts Centre, the UFO Club and, the Cochrane Theatre. He was also working with Mark Boyle a t that time, performing in "Son et Lumiere" also at the Cochrane. He performed ELECTRONIC SOUP MIX in 1969 at the Curwin Gallery, and FILM SOUND MIXES at the ICA. In 1972 he produced a series of 64 drawings based on hexagrams of the I Ching. One of his last creative explorations in non figuative work was a series of abstract paintings, which were illuminated by a special shifting colour light box, the electronics of which were specially designed. At this point his work gradually started to become figurative once more. In 1975 he had an exhibition at the Whitechapel Art Gallery. For 12 years Peter Schmidt explored many media and ideas, he produced a huge amount of work including books, prints, film, sound and painting. For the rest of his life he painted in water colour, spending extended periods in Skye, Scotland, and in Iceland painting landscapes. Although representational, Peter's approach was to use his theory of colour and composition developed previously. In other words, to create both an abstract and figurative painting in one. The last exhibition Peter Schmidt planned called More Than Nothing, at Paul Ide Gallery in Brussels, was of collaborative works with Brian Eno. Among the works shown was the first generative light box, a watercolour painting of Eno called "Portrait of Eno with Allusions", several Tiger Mountain prints, the French edition of the oracle card set called Oblique Strategies, and etchings created just for this exhibit. However, he died suddenly while on holiday in the Canary Islands, on La Gomera, of a heart attack on 22 January 1980, just days before the opening. Works Peter Schmidt met Brian Eno as a visiting lecturer at Ipswich art school in the late 1960s and later became a friend and collaborator. They found they had both independently arrived at a system of using little quotes and axioms to overcome artistic obstacles. They combined efforts to publish the Oblique Strategies cards in 1975. Brian Eno commented on Schmidt. The Oblique Strategies seem to have been an out growth of Schmidt's own "Thoughts Behind The Thoughts". Peter Schmidt has two prints from 1971, both called "Flowing in the Right Direction" in the Tate Collection. Five of Schmidt's Monoprints from late 1968 are in the UK Government Art Collection that maintains and exhibits works in various government buildings. Several of these Monoprints can be seen in the James Bond 007 film "Her Majesty's Secret Service". Schmidt created 1500 different silk screen portraits of Brian Eno, four of which are used on the cover of the LP Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy). The Robert Fripp and Brian Eno LP Evening Star has on its cover a Schmidt painting. Brian Eno included four watercolor prints of Schmidt's work with the first edition of his LP Before and after Science and famously wrote in its liner notes: "Apart from our collaboration on this record, Peter and I have been working together and comparing notes for some time. In 1975 we produced a boxed set of oracle cards called "Oblique Strategies", which were used extensively in the making of this record." HyperSizer performs detailed failure analyses and reporting as a post process to a loads finite element model (FEM). It is an enterprise tool used by both designers and stress analysts from early concept to final design. For over a decade, HyperSizer has significantly reduced weight on major aerospace programs with rapid analysis and composite optimization. Originally developed at NASA, it now greatly enhanced and supported as a commercial product worldwide. HyperSizer is not CAD and is not finite element analysis (FEA). Software HyperSizer is a software system for management of all data associated with the structural analysis and test data of a major aircraft program. Multiple databases can be setup, with each database able to contain hundreds of variations of an airframe configuration (i.e. different FEMs), material properties, panel and beam concepts, dimensions, and loads. This approach provides apples-to-apples weight prediction comparisons, and a guaranteed store of all margins-of-safety for every configuration. The database also provides an organized and efficient means to capture essential data related to a project with a guaranteed ability to immediately locate and retrieve historical data. Stress reports can be generated at the click of a button at any time documenting current status of a project, indicating critical margins, critical load cases, and critical structural parts. Analyses HyperSizer performs hundreds of different analyses such as panel buckling, crippling, beam-column, bonded and bolted joint, composite strength to damage initiation and damage tolerance criteria, etc. for the entire vehicle from engine nacelles to airframe surface panels and substructure. The figure illustrates how HyperSizer imports a FEM and manages all data associated with a configuration. Wing spars and ribs can consider a range of materials and panel concepts that are different than the subset of user determined design options for the wing skins and fuselage body. HyperSizer also analyses and optimizes internal beams such as spar caps and many other open and closed shapes. A primary foundational capability of HyperSizer is to accurately analyze any panel concept without the need to discretely mesh with finite elements the shape of the stiffeners or their spacing. This permits tremendous flexibility and rapid turn around of trades with different panel concepts all from the same coarsely meshed FEM. Progressive Design Process The HyperSizer Progressive Design Process consists of three activities. All three activities can interact with each other throughout design maturation. HyperSizer provides unique automation and integration capabilities to each of these design activities. A funneling process performed in stages to target an optimum design. Innovative ack to the drawing board concepts are proposed, evaluated, and filtered out for the next stage of the design maturation process. An incremental process of including more computationally demanding analysis solutions starting with damage initiation, tracking the progression of failure, and ending with the resulting residual strength at ultimate failure. An incremental process of including more design detail, such as bonded and bolted joints, ply drop-offs, etc. for both optimization and analysis. Antique shop for antique furniture online
I want to introduct something about . Interior of an antique shop. Items for sale at an antique shop in Kabul. An antique shop (or antiques shop) is a retail store specializing in the selling of antiques. Antiques shops can be located either locally and with the advent of the Internet found online. An online Antique shop can also be located within an Antique Mall such as MALLERIES, one of the major online antique malls. , where an individual Antique seller can open a shop and display their items for sell within the mall. Normally their stock is sourced from auctions, estate sales, searching at flea markets or garage sales, etc. Many items may in fact pass through multiple antique dealers along the product chain before arriving in a retail antique shop. By their very nature, they sell unique items and are typically willing to buy items, even from individuals. The quality of these items may vary from very low to extremely high and expensive, depending on the nature and location of the shop. Frequently many antique shops will be clustered together in nearby locations; in the same town such as in many places in New England, on the same street such as on Portobello Road in London, or even all under the same roof in one antique mall, though frequently in that case it may be referred to as a stall rather than shop, especially if that antique dealer has another larger non-mall location. Antique shops may specialize in some particular segment of the market such as antique furniture or jewelry, but many shops stock a wide variety of inventory as well. Additionally a shop may have an online component as well, or even be an online-only seller and have no physical shop. Contents 1 Work box 2 Jewelry box 3 Strong box 4 Knife box 5 Bible box 6 ui 7 Wooden wine box 8 Snuff box 9 References // Work box The most common type of decorative box is the feminine work box. It is usually fitted with a tray divided into many small compartments for needles, reels of silk and cotton, and other necessaries for stitchery. The date of its origin is unclear, but 17th-century examples exist, covered with silk and adorned with beads and embroidery. No lady would have been without her work box in the 18th century. In the second half of that century, elaborate pains were taken to make these boxes dainty and elegant. Work boxes are ordinarily portable, but at times they form the top of a stationary table. Jewelry box A jewel box lined with red velvet A jewelry box, also known as a casket, is a receptacle for trinkets, not only jewels. It may take a very modest form, covered in leather and lined with satin, or it may reach the monumental proportions of the jewel cabinets which were made for Marie Antoinette, one of which is at Windsor Castle, and another at the Palace of Versailles; the work of Schwerdfeger as cabinetmaker, Degault as miniature-painter, and Thomire as chaser. Strong box A strong-box is a receptacle for money, deeds and securities. Its place has been taken in modern life by the safe. Some of those which have survived, such as that of Sir Thomas Bodley in the Bodleian library, possess locks with an extremely elaborate mechanism contrived in the under-side of the lid. Knife box The knife-box or knife-case, a receptacle for knives and other table cutlery, is one of the most charming of the minor pieces of furniture which we owe to the artistic taste and mechanical ingenuity of the English cabinet-makers of the last quarter of the 18th century. Some of the most elegant and often ornate were in the styles of Robert Adam, George Hepplewhite and Thomas Sheraton. Occasionally flat-topped containers, they were most frequently either rod-shaped, or tall and narrow with a sloping top necessitated by a series of raised veins for exhibiting the handles of knives and the bowls of spoons. Mahogany and satinwood were the woods most frequently employed, and they were occasionally inlaid with marquetry or edged with boxwood. These graceful receptacles, often made in pairs, still exist in large numbers; they are often converted into stationery cabinets. Another version is an open tray or rack, usually with a handle, also for the storage of table cutlery. Bible box A Bible Box is a box made to hold Bibles. These boxes started being manufactured in the 17th century. ui An ui is a woman's ornamental case, usually carried in a pocket or purse. It holds small tools for daily use such as folding scissors, bodkins, needles, hairpins, tweezers, makeup pencils, etc. Some uis were also used to carry doctors' lancets. These boxes were made of different materials such as wood, leather, ivory, silver, gold, tortoise shell, mother of pearl, and shagreen. Wooden wine box Wooden wine boxes, also known as wooden wine crates are used to ship and store expensive wines in transit. Most wineries that use wooden boxes engrave their logo and designs on the front panel. These panels are usually highly detailed and used by wine collectors as decoration pieces for their bars or wine cellars. A typical wooden wine box holds either six or twelve 750 ml bottles. Snuff box For the BBC3 comedy, see Snuff Box. Coffin-shaped snuff box made from sheet copper, raised, tinned inside and engraved. It is English and is dated 1792. Victoria and Albert Museum, London One of the more functional types of decorative boxes is the snuff box, which is now largely a relic of the once popular practice of taking snuff. At one time, this tiny decorative but utilitarian box was an indispensable accessory for every man of birth and breeding from the 18th century through the middle of the 19th century. Artisans, such as the jeweller and the enameller bestowed infinite pains upon this object, which was as much a delicate bijou as a piece of utility. Gentlemen of Quality, fops, and dandies possessed a great variety of snuff-boxes, some of which were quite rich in detail, with frames of gold encased with diamonds. Other boxes were more ordinary. Made with potato-pulp, the cheapest wood available, they were extensively used. Other popular materials used in making these boxes include: Tortoise-shell, a favorite material owing to its satin lustre; ..(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about selling aluminum, baby toy box, wheel adapters, children boot, phosphor bronze wire, gum tragacanth, mini bar fridge, silver star pendant, duffle bag luggage, cut orchids, . It was used in a variety of applications, including construction equipment and power generation. The most popular use was in the Budd RDC self-powered rail car. It was also heavily used in Euclid construction machinery. In 1951 a marine version was also introduced. Contents 1 Overview 2 Specifications 3 Advertising 4 References // Overview The Detroit Diesel Series 110 is a two-stroke cycle Diesel engine series, available in six cylinder inline configuration (in keeping with the standard Detroit Diesel practice at the time, engines were referred to using a concatenation of the number of cylinders and the displacement, so this was a model 6-110). It was introduced as the second mass-market product of the Detroit Diesel Engine Division of General Motors in 1945. The 6-110 series engines utilize uniflow scavenging, where a blower mounted to the exterior of the engine provides intake air through cored passages in the engine block and ports in the cylinder walls at slightly greater than atmospheric pressure. The engine exhausts through push-rod operated poppet valves in the cylinder head, with either two or four valves per cylinder. Unit fuel injection is employed, one injector per cylinder, with no high fuel pressure outside of the injector body. The injectors are cycled from the same camshaft responsible for opening the exhaust valves. As a two stroke cycle Diesel engine cannot naturally aspirate, or draw in its own intake air, the blower is necessary to provide air in an amount sufficient both for scavenging of exhaust gasses from the cylinder and to support combustion. Initial versions of the 6-110 engine used a centrifugal-type supercharger. This was very practical for fixed-speed applications such as marine or generator service, but proved a failure in automotive applications. "The engine was developed on the dyno and was never operated above rated RPM. The first application was in Euclid mining trucks, where the driver's income depends on how fast he drives the empty truck back down into the pit. The centrifugal blower ran about 10 times engine speed. Exceeding that RPM was fatal, and in a truck a single missed downshift could mean a failed engine." For that reason a Roots type blower was made available as an option after about 1952. Later high performance versions were available with turbochargers. The initial Series 71 engines from Detroit Diesel were produced in 1-, 2-, 3-, 4- and 6- cylinder versions. The most powerful version, the 6-71, displaced 426 cubic inches and produced 170 HP at 1800 RPM. While these engines with their low cost and relatively light were highly successful, there was also great demand for higher horsepower, especially for non-highway applications such as power generation and construction equipment. Since inline engines of more than 6 cylinders tend to have substantial technical problems, and since GM was not to perfect V-block engine technology for another decade, they took two divergent approaches to achieving higher horsepower. One was to couple together multiple 6-71 engines in twin (side-by-side), tandem (fore-and-aft) and the incredible Quad (four 6-71s all driving a single shaft). While these did produce high horsepower and even added some redundancy, they were mechanically complex and relatively expensive. The alternative approach was to design a new engine and increase the displacement from the existing 71 cubic inches to 110 cubic inches, or roughly a 50% increase. This resulted in the model 6-110 or 660 cubic inches total displacement. While the basic engine components (block, crankshaft, pistons, etc.) were all new, many of the additional components (injectors, governors, accessories, marine gears) were simply shared with the Series 71 engines. Since the 6-110 was designed from the outset for heavy-duty high-horsepower applications, it was never produced in a four cylinder version (that would have displaced 440 cubic inches, very close to the 426 ci displaced by the 6-71). The introduction of the V-71 series in 1957 effectively doomed the 6-110, as both the 8-71 (728 cubic inch displacement) and 12-71 (852 cubic inch displacement) offered higher horsepower in a more compact form factor. However the high torque and great reliability of the 6-110 was still valued for heavy-duty applications. The Series 110 was last produced in 1965, after which the manufacturing rights were purchased by the W. W. Williams Distribution Company, which continues to provide parts for these engines. Specifications The 6-110 was a remarkably flexible engine. The same basic block was available in both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, and the exhaust...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about school book cover, zip up hoody, visor beanies, electronic money jar, food packaging machine, pet water, brass towel bars, bathroom wood cabinet, bathroom furniture cabinet, tung oil, . He was a bright, but angry teenage African-American who got fired from his job as a window washer. Intending to use his engineering skills for personal profit, he devised a plan to steal stuff in the disguise of a supervillain and bring it back as Hobie Brown, thus hurting no one and still becoming a noteworthy hero. However, when he donned his green and purple "Prowler" costume for the first time, he crossed paths with Spider-Man. Spider-Man vanquished and unmasked the Prowler, but realizing he was just a misunderstood kid (much like himself), he gave him advice to not throw his life away as a criminal and to redeem himself. Hobie took this advice to heart and has since become a model citizen. Hobie later impersonated Spider-Man at the hero's request to convince Peter Parker's friends that he was not Spider-Man. Hobie became convinced that Spider-Man was involved somehow in the death of police Captain George Stacy, and unsuccessfully tried to bring Spider-Man to justice. Hobie eventually married his love, Mindy S. McPherson, and settled down into a career as a construction worker. Hobie began to look after his "little brother", Manuel "Manny" Lopez, under the Big Brother Program. When Manny was murdered, Prowler believed that the original White Tiger was responsible, and attempted to bring the White Tiger to justice. Prowler attempted to join the super-hero group the Defenders, only to be tossed in the harbor by Valkyrie. The Prowler equipment was later stolen by the "Cat Burglar", who became the Prowler II to commit crimes for the fashion criminal Belladona. This Prowler was subsequently defeated by Spider-Man. Prowler later appeared in California during Peter Parker's "Webs" book deal. He is first seen attacking the Black Fox for possession of a chalice, to keep his wife, Mindy, out of prison. Mindy accepted a bookkeeping job at Transcorp New York. The company was caught in some shady stock deals and Mindy was set up and blamed for the crimes. The only way to clear her name, Hobie re-donned the Prowler costume and found the books that Mindy was blamed for stealing. He hid the books on an information chip and put the information chip on the chalice, where no one would look for it. Prowler and Spider-Man team up to take on the Black Fox to take the chalice back. Hobie vindicated his wife of stock fraud charges with the help of Spider-Man and the Black Fox. The Prowler later attempted to vindicate Spider-Man of a crime, and first encountered Silver Sable and the Outlaws (including rehabilitated villains like Sandman, Rocket Racer and Puma). His safety designs were stolen by Justin Hammer; Hobie proved the flaws in the designs during an encounter with Hammer's hirelings. Hobie fought his brother Abe Brown (member of the Sons of the Tiger) as an initiation test for Silver Sable. Prowler joined with Spider-Man and the Outlaws against the Avengers and the Space Phantom. Prowler was hired along with the Outlaws to retired a Symkarian nuclear device in England. Prowler then formally joined the Outlaws, to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a Canadian official. His costume and equipment were stolen by Nightcreeper, and the Prowler then battled Nightcreeper and the Vulture. Later, Hobie was paralyzed during the Great Game. In follow-up appearances, he began regaining movement of his paralyzed limbs, and later appeared, in costume, at a poker game hosted by the the Thing. The Prowler was captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. in Ms. Marvel's Civil War tie-in. Escaping incarceration, he attended the wake for Stilt-Man, along with many other villains and former villains. The Prowler narrowly escaped injury as Spider-Man and Puma escorted him from the wake shortly before it was bombed...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about floating magnetic globe, tote shopping bag, plastic container storage, headrest mount dvd player, aluminum scrap metal, ge logiq book, spray car wax, entry lock, pearls pendant, fabric permanent marker, . Welcome to discus (Redirected from Deep Drawing) Deep drawing is a sheet metal forming process in which a sheet metal blank is radially drawn into a forming die by the mechanical action of a punch. It is thus a shape transformation process with material retention. The flange region (sheet metal in the die shoulder area) experiences a radial drawing stress and a tangential compressive stress due to the material retention property. These compressive stresses (hoop stresses) result in flange wrinkles (wrinkles of the first order). Wrinkles can be prevented by using a blank holder, the function of which is to facilitate controlled material flow into the die radius. Contents 1 Process 2 Variations 2.1 Workpiece Materials and Power Requirements 2.1.1 Drawing force(lbs) 2.1.2 Tool Materials 3 See also 4 References 4.1 Bibliography // Process The total drawing load consists of the ideal forming load and an additional component to compensate for friction in the contacting areas of the flange region and bending forces at the die radius. The forming load is transferred from the punch radius through the drawn part wall into the deformation region (sheet metal flange). Due to tensile forces acting in the part wall, wall thinning is prominent and results in an uneven part wall thickness. It can be observed that the part wall thickness is lowest at the point where the part wall loses contact with the punch, i.e. at the punch radius. The thinnest part thickness determines the maximum stress that can be transferred to the deformation zone. Due to material volume constancy, the flange thickens and results in blank holder contact at the outer boundary rather than on the entire surface. The maximum stress that can be safely transferred from the punch to the blank sets a limit on the maximum blank size (initial blank diameter in the case of rotationally symmetrical blanks). An indicator of material formability is the limiting drawing ratio (LDR), defined as the ratio of the maximum blank diameter that can be safely drawn into a cup without flange to the punch diameter. Determination of the LDR for complex components is difficult and hence the part is inspected for critical areas for which an approximation is possible. Commercial applications of this metal shaping process often involve complex geometries with straight sides and radii. In such a case, the term stamping is used in order to distinguish between the deep drawing (radial tension-tangential compression) and stretch-and-bend (along the straight sides) components. Variations Deep drawing has been classified into conventional and unconventional deep drawing. The main aim of any unconventional deep drawing process is to extend the formability limits of the process. Some of the unconventional processes include hydromechanical deep drawing, Hydroform process, Aquadraw process, Guerin process, Marform process and the hydraulic deep drawing process to name a few. The Marform process, for example, operates using the principle of rubber pad forming techniques. Deep-recessed parts with e,ither vertical or slopped walls can be formed. In this type of forming, the die rig employs a rubber pad as one tool half and a solid tool half, similar to the die in a conventional die set, to form a component into its final shape. Dies are made of cast light alloys and the rubber pad is 1.5-2 times thicker than the component to be formed. For Marforming, single-action presses are equipped with die cushions and blank holders. The blank is held against the rubber pad by a blank holder, through which a punch is acting as in conventional deep drawing. It is a double-acting apparatus: at first the ram slides down, then the blank holder moves: this feature allows it to perform deep drawings (30-40% transverse dimension) with no wrinkles. Industrial uses of deep drawing processes include automotive body and structural parts, aircraft components, utensils and white goods. Complex parts are normally formed using progressive dies in a single forming press or by using a press line. Workpiece Materials and Power Requirements Softer matierials are much easier to deform and therefore require less force to draw. The following is a table demontstrating the Draw force (lbs) to percent reduction of commonly used materials.
